Every mom has been at a juncture where you feel like letting go of all your motherhood responsibilities for a while and relaxing with a clutter-free mind and indulging yourselves. Isn’t it true moms??
Sometimes we need to be pampered ourselves rather than just taking care of everyone else.
Is it possible? Yes, it is, if you don’t use the clichéd excuse -“I have no time”.
So don’t wait and make it happen now with these simple ideas for mom alone time. But first, let me tell you few benefits of taking time for yourself.

22 Me time ideas to pamper your soul:
I take my me-time every day religiously either in the mornings when my hubby takes our 2 year old son out for a walk or in the evenings after my hubby’s return from work or during my little one’s nap time. It’s up to you to find a convenient time.
PS: It’s best to utilize your me-time with Wi-Fi off and your mobiles in silent mode.
#1. Beaches
Beaches are great for walks especially early in the morning. If you are not an early bird like me evenings are not bad either.
During our beach outings, my hubby and son play together while I enjoy walking alone for some time. Who doesn’t love walking barefoot on the beach?
#2. Cooking
If you are the kind of person who love to cook or bake, try new recipes that you like. Try it out and indulge yourself!
Also learn how to reduce LPG consumption at home.
#3. DIY (Do It Yourself)
If you are interested in craft work, do some crafts at home and upcycle old items. DIY videos available online will help you to get ideas.
You can even make a nice photo frame or even a diya holder from a CD!
I am trying out paper quilling now, which I learnt online.
#4. Day Dreaming
Just sit, relax and dream in your room. Sometimes the silence can make us feel peaceful and happy.
#5. Gardening
I love daily spending time in my small garden. I have a few potted plants on the patio of my apartment.
The soil, plants and flowery fragrance makes you more refreshed.
#6. Gym Time
I have never been to gym or done any exercise pre-baby or post baby because when it comes to exercise my laziness just creeps in epic proportions.
But I have heard from a few of my friends that it’s one of the things they enjoy. So moms, if you really want to spend some quality fit and fab me time, hit the gym.
#7. Meet up friends
Meet up an old friend or group of friends with whom you haven’t been in touch with.
Recently I had a day out with my old school friends. I just loved the feeling of meeting them and those precious moments were added to my book of memories.
Without doubt, old or new friends, they will always bring refreshing energy and recharge you.
#8. Meditation and Yoga
I am a big zero in this area and not yet mastered meditation or yoga skills. But I have read and heard a lot that meditation and yoga help to flush out the mental stress and bring balance to your thoughts and emotions.

#9. Mirror Rule
Have you heard of this rule? This is a very simple rule. Everyday look yourself in the mirror and say beautiful words about yourself, do try out new hairstyles and love yourself.
It will really make a big difference.
#10. Nap Time
Taking nap will surely energize your body. Napping offers you relaxation and removes your fatigue. It’s a part of my daily to do list 🙂
#11. Old is gold
Go through your old photographs, greeting cards or letters received from your old friends, parents or hubby.
Every picture or letter has a story of its own and they really brings back amazing memories.
#12. Reading
Take time to read books if you love reading. You can take suggestions from your bookworm buddies to select books. I read books regularly before my nap time or bedtime. I sleep better when I read.
#13. Spa
Take a trip to a nearby spa for a massage, pedicure or facial. It can really do wonders to relieve your stress and give you glowing and healthy skin.
Post baby, I have started going to this fantastic spa, run by my friend, for their amazing pedicures. Moms end up with a lot of wear and tear on their feet. Pedicure can completely relieve your stress and improve blood circulation to your extremities.
Or you can sit at home and do pedicure all by yourself. Also give yourself the benefits of hair spa sitting at home.
#14. Shopping
Go out shopping with your girlfriends and not with your hubby for some great retail therapy.
PS: don’t shop till you go bankrupt ladies 🙂
#15. Theatres
Go to the movies with your girlfriends (again, not with your hubby), have popcorn and share some gossip. Leave your kid with your partner or parents, its only matter of 2 or 3 hours.
This is one of my favorite me time nowadays.
#16. Talent
Revisit all your talents like singing, dancing, playing instruments or whatever and brush it up.
I am planning to re-join my guitar classes soon which I stopped halfway during pregnancy.
#17. Television/ FM Radio
Watch your favorite programme in television or listen to your favorite broadcasts, classic music etc.
#18. Puzzle Solving
Some people really love solving puzzles and sudokus. If you are one among them try some during your me time. Good for boosting concentration and memory too.
#19. Pampering the pet
If you have a dog or a cat or even two or three goldfishes in a tank spending some time watching them is a great way to relax. Pamper the pets and you will get immense unconditional love from them and what better harmless way to relax do you want?
#20. Driving
Go for a long drive into a country side or places where there is less traffic. Put on the music and enjoy the pace of a fun relaxing ride all alone. Stop by small tea shops on the way and sip a cup of hot steaming tea. Your me time is perfect.
#21. Swimming
If you have access to a swimming pool do make your me times more beneficial by taking a long good swim to relax your muscles and mind. It is a great exercise to tone your body and refresh your mind.
#22. Video Games
If you love being hooked on to those thrilling video games, yay that can be your me time activity. Gaming is not only for teenagers , adults can also have some fun time playing video games.
These are the little ways you can indulge during your “me time”. What me-time means for me will be totally different to you. But make sure that you make it happen in your daily routine and try to knock down your stress.
