Want to have a pedicure, but no time to visit the beauty parlor?
Wondering, how to do your own pedicure all at the comfort of your home? Then read on.
Feet are the most neglected part of your body. The kind of care and pampering that you give to your face or hand is not given to the feet. Result – dull and dry looking feet. At least this holds true for me.
I hardly go out for a pedicure for the simple reason that I get too lazy or feel I would rather spend that time on a clean-up or a facial. Result – my feet started showing signs of neglect 🙁
Fortunately I have not reached a stage of no return, because of late I have started paying some attention to my pedicure as well.

DIY Pedicure – 7 easy steps to fabulous feet at home:
This is the best at home pedicure because it is simple, quick and relaxing.
Step 1: Clean up
Rub a slice of lemon to your toes and the feet. Leave it for 5 to 10 minutes.
The citric acid in lemon helps in preventing any kind of fungal or bacterial infection. That’s why lemon is the first thing I chose for my pedicure kit. Lemon also brightens skin and nails.
Step 2: Foot spa
Soak your feet in lukewarm water. You can add a mild shampoo for the cleansing effect. Soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes.
Foot Spa is the part I enjoy the most because it helps you relax. You can read a book or listen to some good music while you are doing this.
A good foot massage improves blood circulation. It also provides relief from cramps and joint pain.
Step 3: Clean the nails
Use an old tooth brush to clean the toe nails. Gently rub to remove any traces of dirt.
Step 4: Apply pack
Let me introduce you to 2 best at home pedicure products – gram flour and milk/ yogurt.
Make a paste of gram flour in milk or yogurt to apply on the feet. Milk or yohurt has lactic acid which helps in removal of dead skin. This will also help whiten the dark areas on the feet.
Step 5: Exfoliate
Use a pumice stone to remove the dead skin. If you want, you could use a foot scrub to exfoliate further. This will prevent any formation of painful corns.
Step 6: Wash and Dry
Wash and dry your feet thoroughly.
Step 7: Moisturize
Make your feet soft and hydrated by applying a good foot cream or any good moisturizer.

Doing this regularly will definitely keep your feet healthy and bright. It will in turn help you stay away from infections and corns. It is also one of the best stress busters.
Going out and getting a spa pedicure procedure is still a good option once in a while 😛
