2 Ingredient Homemade Foot Scrub Recipe

Today I present to you a quick, effective and all natural homemade foot scrub recipe with just 2 ingredients!

Pressed for time and yet can’t ignore the plight of your feet?

We hate feet!

Don’t believe me?

Then ask yourself a question. When was the last time you did a pedicure or did any kind of care for your feet? If you can’t remember, welcome to the club.

We often ignore ourselves and even the ones who devote time to carefully maintain their appearance, ignore their feet. Why does the feet get cold shouldered? Mostly it is because, our feet is covered most of the times. And we think, “Who cares how it looks, right?

Wrong.

Not caring for your feet can bring with it, a host of ailments, like athlete’s feet, corns, calluses, bunions, ingrown toenails etc.

Whatever your reason might be, stop ignoring your feet and start taking care of it before it is too late.

Today I present to you a diy homemade foot scrub recipe. There are many exfoliating foot scrubs available, but you can make this one without scaling the Himalayas. All you need is two very common ingredients that you can find in your kitchen. You can do this while your little one is taking his nap or while you are watching yet another saas bahu saga or your favourite rom-com.

Ingredients required for the foot scrub:

As said this foot srub requires just two ingredients. Lets look into two ingredients.

#1. Lemon

Don’t go by the size. This tiny fruit packs a punch.

Lemon can play many rols in skin care such as

  • Antiseptic– It can take care of all those nicks, cuts and helps in fighting fungal infections.
  • Natural bleach– The bleaching properties of lemon helps lighten and even out skin tone.
  • Muscle relaxant– It is good for your tired feet as it helps to soothe and relax tired muscles.
  • Deodorant– Most of the deodorants and soap are citrus scented and for good reason. Lemon can help keep your feet smelling great.
  • Smoothening agent – Lemon also helps in smoothening out dry and rough skin.

#2. Sugar

Too much sugar can be bad for you but here it works in your favour. This humble and common ingredient that is found in every kitchen is highly sought after in DIY beauty treatments.

It is,

  • An exfoliator– Sugar helps in removing the dead skin.
  • A skin softener– Sugar is really good for softening the skin. It will remove the dryness brought on due to the years of neglect.

Together, these two ingredients will give you one of the best foot scrubs you will ever find.

Step by step homemade foot scrub recipe:

Step by step procedure

#1. Clean your feet

First prepare your feet by washing your feet to get rid of any dirt.

#2. Soak your feet

Fill a basin with some warm water. Add the juice of a lemon and soak your feet for 15 minutes. Don’t forget to relax.

#3. Dry your feet

After the relaxing soak, the next step is to dry your feet.

#4. Scrub

Take some sugar in a small cup and cut a lemon into two. Dip one half in sugar and start scrubbing in circular motion. Use one half per feet.

#5. Wash and Dry

After thoroughly washing your feet, pat dry with a towel.

Tada! Your feet will now be thanking you for what you just did. If you have any more lemons left, make a nice and refreshing drink for yourself! You just did a great thing.

Take a step further and pamper your feet with a pedicure at home.
