What are blackheads?
If you think blackheads are dirt- you are wrong!
Blackheads are the result of our pores getting clogged. Pores gets clogged with sebum and dead skin cells. Sebum is the oil secreted by the sebaceous glands.
Don’t think that this oil is bad as this oil is necessary to keep the skin moisturized. If the glands secrete less of this then our skin becomes dry.
When the pore is open, the oil and dry skin in the pores come into contact with air and oxidizes. This makes it go black, hence the name blackheads. In the case of whiteheads, the pore isn’t open and it doesn’t oxidize.
You know what causes blackheads on nose? You know the notorious T zone? This area has the highest amount of oil glands.
The nose happens to be a part of this zone and that explains the amount of blackheads.
