Eugenol is the main compound in clove which is a powerful analgesic (pain relieving) and it has antiseptic properties too. Clove oil is effective against the bad bacteria that can move from your mouth into your arteries, causing a stroke or heart attack. There have been many studies linking gum disease and heart disease.
Our mouth contains over 700 types of bacteria—some beneficial, others harmful. Rather than killing all the bacteria, which is what antibiotics and harsh mouthwashes do, bacteria should be “managed” to encourage the growth of beneficial microorganisms.
Nowadays many medications for toothache contain a portion of clove oil. Clove is a boon for those who need immediate relief from a toothache
How To Use Clove Effectively For Cavity?
Keep a complete clove in the affected tooth, press it between your upper and lower teeth. The clove will release bitter syrup like oil which has the medicinal quality. Keep it in your mouth for some time and then spit it out. Make sure not to ingest it as ingestion might cause side effects. After some-time rinse your mouth with warm water. It will help to subside the pain for a few hours time.
Avoid excessive usage of clove over a short time period as it can do more harm than good when used repeatedly.
Studies have shown that the health claims of Turmeric are true, especially when it comes to the oral health. One of the biggest benefits is to the health of the gums. Turmeric helps to reduce inflammation and swelling.

8.Yogurt, Milk And Cheese
Dairy products contain lactic acid, which may help protect teeth against decay. A study in the journal Dentistry found kids who ate yogurt four times per week had less tooth decay than kids who didn’t eat yogurt. Researchers think proteins in yogurt may bind to teeth and prevent them from attack by harmful acids that cause cavities.
9.Cut Off Sugar
Researchers found that over time, people’s risk of cavities increased incrementally as the consumption of free, or added, sugars grew from about 0 percent to 10 percent of total daily calories. Bacteria attach to your teeth and coat them in a thin film known as plaque. When you eat sugars, they reach the bacteria, which begin to chow down.
They then turn the sugars into acid, which deconstructs the enamel of tooth and causes decay. As long as you’re sipping it or snacking on it, the bacteria that can cause decay are changing that sugar into acid, and that acid is eroding the tooth.
10.Never Consume Drinks Or Food That Are Too Hot
Drinking something hot after coming in from the cold may cause cracks in the surface of the teeth. These superficial cracks, barely visible to the naked eye, are caused by rapid changes in temperature.Teeth are made of a yellowish bulky material called dentine, which is covered with enamel.
When a tooth is exposed to a sudden temperature change, this can stress the enamel and result in a crack.Usually cracks are only a cosmetic problem, as they can become stained by coffee or red wine. However, if they become deeper and enter the dentine, this can cause sensitivity.
A severe crack may also damage the pulp or nerve within the tooth, causing infection or an abscess. So make sure that you have your drinks and food of moderate temperature ie not too hot that it can harm your teeth.
